The Lakers had convincingly won the first conference round against Portland Trail Blazers by 4-1. The Lakers once again repeated the same performance against the Houston Rockets as they won the semifinals by 4-1.

On the other hand, the Denver Nuggets have come up with collective effort in the postseason. The Nuggets were down and out against the Utah Jazz as they were down by 3-1 but they were able to make a fine comeback to win by 4-3.

Once again, they were trailing by 3-1 against the Clippers but made a roaring comeback to win the series 4-3 and booked their place in the Western Conference finals.
