The 21-year old Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic has been the talk of the town. The youngster has impressed with his performances in the NBA bubble and he is coming out as a young talent to watch out for. Luka Doncic has been ticking the right boxes for the Dallas Mavericks and he has shown all the skills to go a long way in his career.
On the opening day of the playoff stages in the NBA, the LA Clippers, who finished in second place, locked horns with the Dallas Mavericks.
Luka Doncic had an all-round match as he contributed 42 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals. However, Doncic’s world-class effort went in vain as the Dallas Mavericks lost to the LA Clippers by 110-118, with Kawhi Leonard top-scoring for the Clippers with 29 points.
The 21-year old Luka Doncic added another feather in his illustrious NBA cap. It was the debut playoff match for Luka Doncic and he became the first debutant to score 42 points in NBA history. Thus, the youngster has written his name in the history books of the NBA.
In fact, Luka went on to leapfrog the previous records of legends like Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Derrick Rose’s record of 36 points each. Furthermore, the youngster went on to join the elite list of players like Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson and Tracy McGrady who had scored more than 40 points at the age of 21 years or under.
Luka Doncic has considerably improved his performances as compared to the previous season. He was averaging 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6 assists in the last season. However, his numbers in the ongoing season read as 28.8 points per game, 9.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists. Hence, he has been in sublime form.
All the eyes will be once again on Luka Doncic when both of these teams will take on each other in game two of the first round of playoffs on Wednesday.
