Every shot I take I think I am going to make it – Steph Curry optimistic despite poor shooting form

Golden State Warriors talisman Steph Curry is confident of getting back to his best despite his poor shooting form in the recent past. Curry surprisingly hasn’t been at his best since December and he will need to turn the tables in the upcoming matches.

Curry stated that he is optimistic to convert every shot he takes at the basket and he is going to keep taking his chances despite poor form.

Curry could only score 13 points against Utah Jazz as he shot horribly in the team’s 94-92 loss. In fact, Curry has shot only 35.9% from the field and 29.9% from the arc in the last 11 matches, which is well below his own lofty standards.

Curry said, “Teams are probably going to go at me. So, you gotta be able to take those challenges and do other things to help you win. So, that’s again the temptation of getting in your feelings like ‘Oh, I’m missing every shot, I’m just going to worry about that and that alone and not do anything else’ – it’s not what basketball is about.”

“Every shot I take, I think I’m going to make. Unless it’s way off or there’s something – you’re off balance or whatever it is.”

Curry believes he took some good shots which were not converted but admitted that he needs to make minor tweaks in his game to get back to his best.

“There’s a surprise when you don’t make it, but again tonight I probably would nitpick only the last three I took. But I took 12 good shots for me. And I’m not, you know, worried about the selection as much as just figuring out, you know, what needs to change in terms of knocking them down.”

Meanwhile, GSW has missed the services of their talisman Draymond Green in the last eight matches as he has been out due to injury. The Warriors have gone 4-4 without him and Curry feels the team has felt his absence.

“I think early there are a couple of games where attempts were down just because you’re so used to him being able to see the floor from the top of the key, usually make the right play, his patience to let plays develop and either use me as a decoy or get somebody in a back cut or, you know, throwing an on-time pass – me coming out off of off-ball movements and stuff like that, but we’ve adjusted pretty well.”

GSW will next take on Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night.
