When Brooklyn Nets signed James Harden from Houston Rockets, there was a lot of talk regarding the team’s big three – Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and the Beard playing together. However, due to a plethora of injuries, the trio has been able to play only seven matches together for the team.
Earlier Kevin Durant was ruled out due to an injury and now that he has recuperated, James Harden has been ruled out due to hamstring tightness. Thus, the big players haven’t played together in this season, which has raised question marks on their chemistry for the all-important playoff season.
Brooklyn Nets currently have a 36-17 record and they occupy the second position in the Eastern Conference. Ergo, they look all set to qualify for the postseason.
Durant feels it is all about following the game plan and they should do fine if they play according to their strategy. The talisman added that the players are motivated to do well and thus coordination will be fine despite injury concerns.
Durant said while speaking to ESPN, “I’ll see more issues if we’re not focused. If we’re not locked in with the game plan, more so than anything. Once we got a good game plan and we follow it to the T, then we’ll start to see stuff form.”
“The chemistry, if you want to call it. Just energy forms around like us following what the coaches need us to do to succeed. I think things will work out for us. But we definitely want to get on the floor,” he explained.
The Nets are deemed as the hot favourites to win the title in the ongoing season but their recent loss of 126-101 against the LA Lakers has raised question marks on their changes. In fact, the Lakers were without the services of Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
Meanwhile, the Nets will next play Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night and their talisman Kyrie Irving will miss the game due to personal reasons.
