The LA Lakers made a resounding comeback into the NBA finals after losing the third game of the series against Miami Heat. The Lakers were at their best as they won the fourth game of the series by 102-96, with their star performer LeBron James top scoring with 28 points. The Lakers have taken a 3-1 lead in the NBA finals.
James has been in top form throughout the postseason and he was once again able to prove his mettle. The 35-year old showed his class once again and added another feather to his glorious cap.
James scored 28 points, 12 rebounds and provided eight assists to write his name in the history books. This is the 24th time in James’ career that he has scored 25 points and 10 rebounds in the NBA finals. Thus, the talisman leapfrogged legend Elgin Baylor for most matches with 25 points and 10 rebounds in the NBA finals.
Furthermore, James crossed 500 points in the postseason. In fact, this is the sixth time when the Lakers legend has scored 500 points, 150 rebounds and 150 assists in the postseason. The only other player to achieve this illustrious feat was Larry Bird and he was able to get to this landmark only once in his career in 1987.
James would look to continue his good form and take the Lakers all the way. The Lakers would aim to finish off the series in the fifth game. This is the 10th NBA finals appearance for Bron and he has all the experience under his belt. If he goes on to win his fourth NBA ring, more records will be broken and made.
The fifth of the series will be played on Saturday.
