Lionel Messi and Stephen Curry are regarded as two of the best players of their respective sports, football and basketball. While Messi is known for his mad skills on the pitch, Curry is considered one of the best three-point shooters in the game.
Back in 2018, Curry spoke highly of Lionel Messi. The Golden State Warriors star said Messi works hard on his talent to get the best out of himself at the top level. Messi was playing for Barcelona during that time.
Since then Messi has won two Copa America titles and he is also a World Cup winner. Curry, on the other hand, recently won Gold with the USA in the Paris Olympics and he is a four-time NBA champion.
Curry said, “I think it’s the creative genius to what he does and a flair, but also there is a fundamental aspect to the flair. The work that he puts in, I’m assuming, based on the talent that he has, and combining that with the talent that he has and how that kind of shows when he’s out there on the pitch.”
“So I think there’s a lot of comparison, really, around the creativity and the innovation that we bring to our respective sports and trying to, I guess, impact – I would say influence the next generation to try to push themselves as well,” Curry said (via GOAL)
On the other hand, Inter Miami head coach Tata Martino provided a crucial update on Lionel Messi’s injury. La Pulga suffered an ankle injury in the Copa America final against Colombia.
“Leo is getting better every day. He’s still training in the gym [not the field] but he’s better every time and doing well in the timeframe we had considered,” he said before Inter Miami’s game against Toronto FC (via ESPN).
