Ashes 2023: England vs Australia, 3rd Test – Dafanews Match Preview

England will lock horns with Australia at Leeds, Headingley in the third Ashes Test match from Thursday onwards. The first two Test matches have been pure theatre as both of these teams have brought their best to the table.

In fact, the series took a spark after Jonny Bairstow was dismissed in a controversial manner by Alex Carey and the incident had definitely fired up the Lord’s crowd. We look at the current form, head-to-head, players to look out for, and squads of both teams in our match preview.

Australia have clicked as a unit and that’s why they are leading by 2-0 in the ongoing Ashes 2023. Steve Smith returned to his best as he scored 110 runs after a poor outing at Edgbaston whereas Travis Head continued to impress. David Warner returning to form was also a big positive for the tourists. Moreover, the bowlers came up with a collective show despite Nathan Lyon’s calf injury.

It is for the first time that England under Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes has lost two Test matches on the bounce. England has time and again spoken about how they are going to back their aggressive method and it will be interesting to note how they are going to retaliate at Headingley.
