India will face Sri Lanka in their second match of the Super Four stage in the ongoing Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. The Men in Blue had lost their previous match against Pakistan by five wickets and this will be a must-win match for them.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, had won against Afghanistan in the last game but they are going to have their work cut out against a potent Indian team.
Virat Kohli is slowly but surely returning to his best and it was evident in the way he played against Pakistan. Kohli’s form is a great sign for the team but the other batters also need to make their contribution.
India was given a great start by their openers against Pakistan and Rohit Sharma as well as KL Rahul will look to do the same against Sri Lanka. Furthermore, it will be interesting to note what kind of combination will India play with as they only had five specialist bowlers against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka has won their last two matches against Bangladesh and Afghanistan and their players must have grown in confidence. Kusal Mendis has been in good form while their spinners have done a decent job so far.
Match Prediction: India will start as favorites against Sri Lanka but they will need to be at their best.
