The International Cricket Council has announced the fixtures for the T20 World Cup 2021. Hosts Oman will face Papua New Guinea in the opening match of the tournament in Round 1 of Group B on October 17. Scotland and Bangladesh will take on each other in the evening game on the same day.
Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands and Namibia are the four other teams in Group A of the Round 1. The top two teams of Group A and B from Round 1 will qualify for the Super 12 stage.
The Super 12 stage will begin with Australia taking on South Africa on October 23 at Abu Dhabi. The defending champions West Indies will face England in the evening game on the same day at Dubai International Cricket stadium.
On the other hand, India will begin their tournament against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India’s second game will be played at the same venue on 31st October against New Zealand. The Virat Kohli-led team will take on Afghanistan on 3rd November at Abu Dhabi.
India’s remaining two matches of the Super 12 stage will be played on 5th and 8th November at Dubai.
The first semi-final will be hosted in Abu Dhabi on 10 November at 6pm local time. The second semi-final will be hosted by Dubai on 11 November. Both semi-finals have reserve days.
The final clash of the tournament will take place in Dubai at 6pm local time on 14 November, Sunday, with Monday acting as the reserve day for the final.
