Punjab Kings will face Gujarat Titans in the 16th match of the Indian Premier League 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Friday. Punjab Kings have got off to a decent start as they have won two out of their three matches whereas Gujarat Titans have started their campaign on a high as they have won both of their games.
The Mayank Agarwal-led had won their previous match against defending champions Chennai Super Kings by a mammoth margin of 54 runs. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans had won their last game against Delhi Capitals by 14 runs.
Gujarat Titans, who are playing their maiden season of the IPL, have ticked the right boxes so far as a unit and they have gelled well together to get the desired results. Hardik Pandya deserves a lot of credit for getting the best out of his young team and playing a key role in the team’s success.
Shubman Gill played a fine knock of 84 runs in the previous match whereas Lockie Ferguson scalped four wickets for the Titans.
On the other hand, PBKS would have been a tad disappointed as they could not finish their innings on a high against CSK despite being in a formidable position. Liam Livingstone was brilliant with both bat and ball for the Mohali-based team.
Thus, both teams will look to bring their A-game to the table to bag two crucial points in the season.
Match Prediction: It is expected to be a close contest between these two teams however Punjab Kings might enter the contest as favorites.
PBKS Predicted Playing XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal (c), Bhanuka Rajapaksa (WK), Liam Livingstone, Raj Bawa, Shahrukh Khan, Odean Smith, Rahul Chahar, Arshdeep Singh, Harpreet Brar, Sandeep Sharma.
Gujarat Titans: Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade (wk), Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya, Abhinav Manohar, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Shami, Lockie Ferguson, Varun Aaron.
