IPL 2023: Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders – Dafanews Match Preview

Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 22nd match of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Sunday. Mumbai has won a single match out of the three they have played whereas KKR has thus far won two out of the three games they have played (not considering their previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad).

We look at the current form, head-to-head, players to look out for, and squads of both teams in our match preview.

Current form for MI: W L L

MI must have been relieved after winning their first match against Delhi Capitals. However, their fast bowling unit and middle order remains a concern. Suryakumar Yadav has hit rut form and it will be crucial for MI that he gets back to his best.

Current form for KKR: W W L

KKR have ticked the right boxes in their last two matches against RCB and GT. The Kolkata-based franchise had snatched a win from the jaws of defeat after Rinku Singh’s heroics in their last game against GT. Thus, this win must have added a lot of confidence to the players.

Head to Head: Matches: 31, Won by MI: 22, Won by KKR: 9.

MI clearly holds a big advantage in H2H battle against KKR.

Players to watch out for: Tim David, Rohit Sharma, Jofra Archer, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Cameron Green, and Jason Behrendorff will be the key players for MI.

Rinku Singh, Nitish Rana, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Varun Chakravarthy, and Venkatesh Iyer are going to hold the key for KKR.
