Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2022: Top 3 performers of the tournament

Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2022 came to a close with Gulbarga Mystics emerging as the champions. The Manish Pandey-led defeated Bengaluru Blasters by 11 runs in the final at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Friday.

Manish Pandey was awarded the Player of the Match for scoring a quickfire knock of 41 runs off just 17 and thus leading from the front. On the other hand, Rohan Patil was awarded the Player of the tournament for scoring 397 runs in 12 matches.

Meanwhile, there were some consistent performances throughout the tournament. We take a look at the top three performers of the tournament.

Mayank Agarwal: The Bengaluru Blasters captain led from the front and played a key role in guiding his team to the final. The right-hander scored 496 runs in 12 matches at an average of 49.60 and a blistering strike rate of 167. Thus, he finished as the leading run-getter of the competition.

In fact, Agarwal wasn’t in the best of forms while leading Punjab Kings in IPL 2022. He could only manage 196 runs in 12 innings but he was able to return back to his best. The 31-year-old scored two centuries in the tournament.

LR Chethan: LR Chethan also played a huge role in taking Bengaluru Blasters to the final. As an opener, Chethan provided solid starts to the team along with Agarwal throughout the tournament. The right-hander scored 447 runs in 11 matches at an average of 44.70 and a whirlwind strike rate of 173.26 to finish as the second-highest run-getter of the tournament.

The 22-year-old also scored a fine knock of 91 runs off just 40 balls in the final against Gulbarga Mystics but his efforts went in vain.

Vidyadhar Patil: Vidyadhar Patil played an instrumental role in taking Mysore Warriors to the playoff stages. Patil scalped 17 wickets in 12 matches and finished as the joint highest wicket-taker of the competition along with Vidwath Kaverappa.

The 21-year-old medium pacer bowled with an average of 22.53 and his best bowling figures were 4-24 in the tournament. The youngster had a bowling strike rate of 13.82, which was the best in the competition.
