Bengaluru Blasters captain Mayank Agarwal was delighted after his team defeated Gulbarga Mystics by 44 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Tuesday. Bengaluru Blasters posted an above-par score of 227 runs after Gulbarga Mystics captain Manish Pandey won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Mayank Agarwal, who didn’t get a lot of runs in the previous few matches, was able to lead from the front as he scored a majestic knock of 112 runs off just 61 balls with the help of nine fours and six sixes.
Bengaluru Blasters got off to a dream start as LR Chethan and Mayank Agarwal added 162 runs for the opening stand in the first 16 overs.
Chethan scored 80 runs off just 48 balls to support his captain as he also batted at the top of his game.
On the other hand, Rohan Patil scored a valiant knock of 108 runs off just 49 balls with the help of 10 fours and seven sixes. However, his efforts went in vain as the rest of the batters could not contribute to the run chase.
Mayank Agarwal said in the post-match presentation, “Outstanding game overall. We batted really well but the way they came out on the chase was tremendous, congratulations to Rohan Patil. In the last couple of games I didn’t get runs, so I wanted to do it in a big game. (On LR Chethan)He is batting very well, whenever he is getting bad balls he is putting them away. Suchith has been my go to man while bowling. As opposition captain, you can’t do much when someone is batting like that, he played very well.”
Bengaluru Blasters will now face the winner of the second qualifier between Mysore Warriors and Gulbarga Mystics on Friday at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru in the final. The second qualifier will take place on Thursday at the same venue.
The Blasters had finished at the top of the points table with seven wins from 10 matches and they will look to continue the good show in the final clash.
