MS Dhoni should play for India again – Kuldeep Yadav

India’s chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav reckons former skipper MS Dhoni should once again play for the national team. Dhoni had last played in the Indian colours back in the semi-final loss against New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup. Subsequently, he took a break from the national duties and made himself unavailable for selection.

In fact, it was believed that Dhoni’s form in the Indian Premier League could be instrumental in his return to the national team. However, the tournament has been postponed indefinitely by the BCCI due to coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav shares a great respect for the veteran wicket-keeper batsman. Yadav had made his debut in 2017 and since then Dhoni has provided him with invaluable suggestions, which has helped him in flummoxing the opposition batsmen. Dhoni has all the experience in the game and he has played a key role in guiding Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav on the right track.

Yadav added that Dhoni is an instant advisor and he has helped him in his career. The left-arm spinner added that the whole Indian team is missing Dhoni as he hasn’t played with them for almost a year.

“We all are missing Mahi bhai. I am a big fan of Mahi bhai. I really want him to come back into the team soon and play. Personally, I really feel he should play for India again,” Kuldeep told The Times of India.

“Whenever we stepped onto the field, Mahi bhai would come up with some instant advice. That advice helped me a lot in my career. He is a great instant advisor,” Kuldeep said.

On the other hand, Kuldeep added the Indian captain Virat Kohli is a great motivator and backs his players. The southpaw spinner also heaped praise on the Indian limited overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma for guiding the youngsters on the right path.

“Mahi bhai is an instant advisor, Virat bhai is a great motivator. Apart from these two, Rohit bhai also guided me a lot on many occasions. I am really grateful that I am playing under seniors like Virat, Dhoni and Rohit.”

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav hasn’t been in the best of forms and he would like to make a roaring comeback into the team. Yadav has scalped 104 wickets in 60 ODI matches whereas he snared 39 wickets in 20 T20I matches.

As far as MS Dhoni is concerned, the former Indian skipper is yet to take a final call on his International career. However, Dhoni will be seen playing for CSK in the IPL, whenever the tournament happens.
