Picks for the fifth Test match between England and India

England will lock horns against India in the rescheduled fifth Test match at Edgbaston, Birmingham from Friday.

The hosts are in splendid form as they recently hammered New Zealand by 3-0 and they will look to continue their impressive show.

On the other hand, India had played a four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire and almost all of their batters got amongst the runs, which is a positive sign for the visitors.

We take a look at Picks for the match between England and India. We will look at current form, head-to-head records, stats, and players to look out for in the upcoming match.

Current form for England: W W W L D

England has been superb in the last one month and their new aggressive approach under head coach Brendon McCullum is working wonders. They are playing with a positive mindset and most importantly they are coming up with a collective effort, which is playing a key role in their success.

Current form for India: W W L L W

India had won their two Test matches against Sri Lanka but they had played red-ball cricket back in March. The warm-up game was decent for Indian players but they will be expected to hit the ground running in tough English conditions, which is always a challenge.

Head to Head: Matches: 130 Won by England: 49, Won by India: 31, Draw: 50.

England certainly has an edge in the head-to-head battle in Test matches.

Players to look out for: Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ollie Pope, James Anderson, Ben Stokes, and Stuart Broad are going to hold the key for the home team.

Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma (subject to his match fitness), Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant, and Ravindra Jadeja will be crucial players for the visitors.
