IPL 2025 mega auction was hosted by the BCCI in Jeddah on November 24 and 25. A total of 577 players went under the hammer in the auction, with all 10 franchises spending a whopping amount of Rs 639.15 crore in two days.
Punjab Kings broke the bank for Shreyas Iyer, who was roped in for a huge amount of INR 26.75 crore. Iyer will most likely lead PBKS in the next season of the IPL after he was released by KKR.
Before the IPL 2025 mega auction, PBKS decided to retain Prabhsimran Singh and Shashank Singh and thus had the biggest purse remaining for the auction.
