Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has revealed that he worked hard on his length after the last IPL season. Bishnoi didn’t have a great IPL 2025 for Lucknow Super Giants as he scalped nine wickets in 11 matches at a high economy rate of 10.83. The leg-spinner will play for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026 after he was roped in for INR 7.20 crore in the mini auction.
However, Bishnoi was able to make a solid return to the team as he returned with impressive figures of 2-18 in his quota of four overs in the third T20I against New Zealand. The leg-spinner accounted for Glenn Phillips and Mark Chapman and played a key role in restricting New Zealand to 153.
Bishnoi was added to the Indian squad after Washington Sundar was ruled out with a side strain injury.
“The work I have done in the last one year was on my lengths because I didn’t do so well in the IPL last season. I didn’t have much control over my lengths and my lines in the last season. That’s why it was tough for me in the last season,” Bishnoi said as quoted by PTI.
“But I tried my best to bowl in the 5-6 metres length on the stumps as it is difficult to hit from those lengths… So, I tried my best.”
Bishnoi admitted it is never easy to be out of the Indian team and said it is not easy to break into the team as the side is very strong.
“Yes, it is difficult when you are away from the side, you feel like you should be there but you are not,” Bishnoi said after the match here on Sunday.
“This Indian team is very strong and there are very few spots available so limited opportunities. It was good because I had time to work on myself, I did a lot of work on myself.”
The fourth T20I between India and New Zealand will be played at Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.
