West Indies will lock horns against New Zealand in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad on Wednesday. The Windies have won both of their matches against Uganda and Papua New Guinea and they will look to continue the good show.
New Zealand, on the other hand, was stunned by Afghanistan by a huge margin of 84 runs in their opening match of the tournament. The Kiwis were sloppy in the field, which is a rarity, and they had to pay the price for their poor performance.
Furthermore, the Blackcaps were skittled out for a paltry score of 75 as only two of their batters reached the double digits. Ergo, the Kane Williamson-led team will need to come up with a better performance in the field as well as with the bat. It will be a must-win match for the Kiwis and they will look to come up with a collective effort against the Rovman Powell-led team.
After being challenged by Papua New Guinea in the opening match, West Indies were able to come up with a clinical performance against Uganda as they registered a thumping win of 134 runs. Akeal Hosein returned with impressive figures of 5-11 as the Cricket Cranes were bowled out for only 39 runs.
