Former South African captain Faf du Plessis has tipped Virat Kohli as one of the most competitive players in the cricket world. Kohli is known to give his 120% on the field and he is never complacent on the field. Du Plessis also added that one gets to know the other side of Virat Kohli when one plays along with him on the same team.
Faf du Plessis led Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022 and played with Kohli for the first time in his career. The Proteas batter added Kohli is a family guy who has a lot of value as a person.
“When you play along with Virat Kohli – you will know other side of Virat, how caring he is and a family guy – has lots of value as a person,” said Faf du Plessis while speaking on the Grade Cricketer podcast.
“Virat Kohli is one of the most competitive players in world cricket. He is a superhuman”, the Proteas cricketer added.
Meanwhile, it is well known that Virat Kohli wears his heart on his sleeve and he is mostly aggressive on the field. Kohli likes to take the bull by its horns and plays with a lot of passion.
Kohli and Faf du Plessis were both retained by RCB ahead of IPL 2023 mini-auction and they would want to collectively lead the team to their first title in the next season.
Kohli didn’t have a great run in IPL 2022 as he scored 341 runs from 16 matches averaging 22.73 and a strike rate of almost 116. Thus, Kohli will want to come up with a better show for the Bangalore-based franchise.
The talisman recently returned back to his best in the T20 World Cup as he finished as the leading run-getter with 296 runs in six matches at an average of 98.67 and a strike rate of 136.41.
The IPL 2023 mini-auction will take place in Kochi on 23rd December whereas Kohli will return to action for Bangladesh ODIs.
