The reigning champions England will face Bangladesh at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on Tuesday in a day game. England had got off to a losing start as they were convincingly beaten by New Zealand by nine wickets in their opening game.
The Three Lions could only manage 282 runs on the board as their batters could not convert their starts into substantial scores. Joe Root scored 77 whereas Buttler scored 43 but the rest of the batsmen could not show enough resistance at the crease.
Furthermore, England’s bowling looked toothless against the Kiwis as Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway took them apart. Ergo, England will have to pull up their socks with both bat and ball against the Tigers.
On the other hand, Bangladesh registered a convincing win of six wickets against Afghanistan. Mehidy Hasan Miraz delivered with both bat and ball as the all-rounder picked three wickets and also scored a half-century.
The Dharamshala pitch did provide assistance to the Bangladesh spinners and they will once again look to make the most of the conditions. Shakib Al Hasan took three wickets and led from the front against the Afghans. Moreover, Najmul Hossain Shanto continued his good form as he also scored a fine half-century.
Match Prediction: England will enter the contest as favorites against Bangladesh but the Tigers have the team to stun the defending champions.
