Hero Indian Super League 2022-23 concluded as ATK Mohun Bagan bested Bengaluru FC by 4-3 on penalties at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa on Saturday. Throughout the ninth season of the league, there were exemplary performances from the Indian as well as foreign players.
Mumbai City FC reached the new echelons as they remained unbeaten in the first 18 matches of the league and also won the League Shield after 14 wins in 20 matches.
The youngsters like Sivasakthi Narayanan, Roshan Singh, Lalchungnunga Chhangte, Kiyan Nissiri, and many others impressed with their game. On the other hand, the veteran players also showed their class in the tournament.
Chhangte scored 10 goals in 22 matches for Mumbai City FC and he was awarded the Hero of the League. He also provided six assists for the Islanders.
Diego Mauricio became the first Golden Boot winner from Odisha FC, scoring 12 goals in 21 games for the Juggernauts.
ATK Mohun Bagan FC goalkeeper Vishal Kaith received the golden glove award for making 67 saves in 24 matches and keeping 12 clean sheets.
Sivasakthi Narayanan was awarded the Emerging player of the season for scoring six goals and providing three assists in 21 matches for runners-up Bengaluru FC.
Moroccan player Noah Sadaoui was given the Street baller of the league for scoring nine goals and providing as many assists for FC Goa. Sadaoui provided the most assists in the league.
