Indian football head coach Igor Stimac has named the list of 41 probable players for the Asian Cup 2023 qualifiers camp. AFC Asian Cup Final Round qualifiers will be held in June. The team will gather in Bellary on April 23 and will start training till May 8. Subsequently, they will move to Kolkata for their preparation and will stay in the city till the start of the tournament.
According to the All India Football Federation release, players from Mumbai City and ATK Mohun Bagan, who are representing their respective clubs in the ongoing AFC Cup, will join the preparatory camp after the conclusion of the competition.
India will join Hong Kong, Afghanistan, and Cambodia in Group D of the AFC Asian Cup 2023 final round qualifiers. The matches will take place at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. India will play their first match of the tournament against Cambodia on June 8.
India had recently played against Belarus and had lost by 3-0. Furthermore, the Blue Tigers suffered a 2-1 loss against Bahrain in March. Thus, the Sunil Chhetri-led team will look to bounce back stronger.
