ATK Mohun Bagan central defender Carl McHugh has signed a two-year extension with the team, the club announced on Tuesday. The Irishman will remain with the Mariners unit till the end of the 2024 season as part of the new contract.
The 29-year-old has been a consistent performer for ATK Mohun Bagan and has played a key role in the success of the team in the last two years. The defender played 39 matches for ATK Mohun Bagan in the previous two seasons of the league.
McHugh is expected to play a key role in ATK Mohun Bagan’s success in the upcoming season of the Hero ISL and also the AFC Cup.
On the other hand, Halicharan Narzary has extended his contract with the defending champions Hyderabad FC. Narzary had grabbed the headlines when he had scored the winning penalty against Kerala Blasters FC in the final of the tournament in the penalty shootout.
Narzary has all the experience under his belt and he is going to add value to Hyderabad FC. The 28-year-old has the experience of playing 28 matches in the Hero ISL.
The winger is delighted to join hands with Hyderabad FC and he is looking forward to the next season.
“I am super excited to extend my stay with this wonderful club,” said Narzary after penning his new deal that will keep him at the club until the end of 2022-23 season.
“I am thrilled to be a part of this group again and I cannot wait for the new season to get started,” he added.
Narzary has been playing for Hyderabad FC since 2020 but he had missed a lot of matches after suffering an injury in the team’s opening game of the previous season.
