Jamshedpur FC announce the arrival of their new head coach Aidy Boothroyd for the upcoming season

Indian Super League’s Shield winners from last season Jamshedpur FC have finally announced the arrival of their new head coach in Aidy Boothroyd for the upcoming season. The English manager is someone who has had an illustrious career in coaching with England’s Football Association (FA) and will be looking to carry the legacy of former head coach Owen Coyle’s legacy forward with his personal inputs as the Men of Steel would want to keep up their performances from last season.

The 51-year-old was delighted as he decided to put pen to paper sharing how Jamshedpur FC are the current Champions of India and also shared the legacy that they have developed in the city of Jamshedpur and their love for the game. He pointed out his ambitions of making this team capable enough to play against the best teams in Asia.

He said, “Jamshedpur FC are the Champions of India currently and the city has a tremendous football legacy. We want to continue this upward trajectory and make the club reach places and win honors that our fans are dreaming of. We want to take the club to the next level and compete really with the top teams in Asia.”

Boothroyd highlighted how evolving this team would need work from every end of the field starting from player development to generate more connection with the people at the Furnace and also recruiting top talents to push this project towards it’s goal which he wants them to reach in a few years’ time.

Boothroyd started coaching at a young age and his biggest highlight was when he helped Watford gain promotion back into the Premier League. Back in those days Boothroyd became of the highly regarded English coaches due to this feat. Apart from managing Watford, he also has plied his trade for clubs like Colchester United, Coventry City and Northampton Town before joining the FA to take charge of junior English teams.

The Englishman has had a huge role in developing several English talents like Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell, Jordan Pickford, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Mason Mount as they all came up through the ranks and played under Boothroyd’s coaching.

So the hopes are high from the Englishman as he looks to takes up a different challenge in India in the ISL. he will look to continue the legacy of Coyle by gradually implementing his style but keeping the winning mentality intact.
