Jamshedpur FC for me is a home away from home: Pratik Chaudhari on making a return to the club

 

Defender Pratik ChaudharI recently made a return to Jamshedpur FC after three years. Chaudhari had played the last two seasons for Bengaluru FC in the previous season but feels Jamshedpur FC is a home away from home for him.

Chaudhari has all the experience under his belt as he played 76 matches in the Hero ISL and he will look to bring his best while playing for Jamshedpur FC.

Meanwhile, Chaudhari made his Hero ISL debut with Kerala Blasters FC while he made his I-league debut with Mumbai FC. Subsequently, he played for Delhi Dynamos in the 2017-18 season and then went on to join Jamshedpur FC in the following season.

Chaudhari said while talking to Jamshedpur FC Media Team, “I’m delighted to be back at Jamshedpur. I always felt that I will come back someday and I’m glad that it has happened now. Wearing the JFC threads was really special then and being the Champions of India now, makes it even more special.”

The 32-year-old defender revealed that the reason he decided to make a return to the club because he feels comfortable with management at the team.

He added, “I’ve lived in this city before. So I know that football has always been a sport that is much appreciated and loved by the people here. Jamshedpur FC is a massive club. And one of the main reasons behind coming back here is that I always felt comfortable with the people at the club. The professionalism and the positive intent that they’ve maintained throughout is something we all admire as players. So for me, it’s like another home away from home.”

Speaking about the fans of the club, Chaudhari said, “They’re undoubtedly one of the best in India. The zeal & enthusiasm they have for the team is second to none. I’m really excited & looking forward to playing in front of them again.”

Chaudhari will play under the tutelage of Aidy Boothroyd and he is looking forward to learning from the Englishman.

Chaudhari concluded, “I’m very happy to have Aidy Boothroyd as our gaffer. The experience he brings to the club is what we need to win the title & defend the shield. So yes I’m very excited and eager to play under his guidance and gain valuable learnings.”
