Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil was not impressed with his team’s performance after suffering a 0-3 loss against Bengaluru FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru in the ongoing Indian Super League on Sunday.
Edgar Mendez scored at the stroke of halftime to put the Blues in front. After the break, Alberto Noguera scored a brace to give a convincing win to his team. Thus, the Spaniard was awarded Player of the Match for his fine show.
The home team had 53.6% possession and took seven shots on target whereas the visitors could only take three shots on target.
“Performance was not up to the mark. We have to bounce back again as we are playing an away game. Concentration should be good when you play an away game,” Khalid Jamil said in the post-match press conference.
The Indian coach reckons the game changed after the opposition scored the second goal in the 57th minute.
“After the second goal (the game changed). They scored from a free-kick and then they scored the third goal. That is the reason we have lost,” Jamil explained.
Jamil urged his players to focus on their upcoming home fixture against NorthEast United FC and come up with an improved performance.
“We have to think about the next game. We are playing on our home ground. We have to bounce back again very quickly. We have to recover now. We have to think about the next game because it is an important game,” he stated.
Providing an update on Nigerian defender Stephen Eze, Jamil said, “He was injured. He didn’t travel as he was injured.”
