Mohammedan Sporting Club has confirmed the signing of 20-year-old left winger Fahad Temuri from Delhi FC ahead of their debut ISL season. Khel Now reports that the promising Delhi-based player has signed a three-year contract following a free transfer.
Temuri’s impressive performances in the DSA A Division caught the attention of scouts, leading to his recruitment by the historic Kolkata club.
“Fahad is a talented young player with a lot of potential,” said a source close to Mohammedan Sporting Club, who wished to remain anonymous. “We are excited to have him on board and believe he will be a valuable addition to our squad.”
Temuri has already made a name for himself with Delhi FC, having participated in the second division I-League campaign during the 2022-23 season. His contributions were also notable in Delhi FC’s recent I-League season, where he further honed his skills and demonstrated his abilities on the field.
This signing marks a strategic boost for Mohammedan Sporting, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options as they prepare for the challenges of the ISL. Temuri’s pace, skill, and experience in the DSA A Division are expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the team. The Black Panthers are banking on his potential to make a significant impact in their inaugural ISL season.
Mohammedan Sporting’s promotion to the ISL earlier this year marked a historic achievement, making them only the second side after Punjab FC to achieve this feat. The team accumulated 52 points over a 24-game I-League season, edging out Sreenidi Deccan. Their success has been under the stewardship of Russian manager Andrey Chernyshov, who has been retained to lead the team into the top division.
The club has been proactive in enhancing their squad, with Temuri’s signing being a key part of this strategy. Additionally, standout performers from their title-winning season have been rewarded, including Mohammed Jassim, who has secured a new deal ahead of the ISL campaign.
Preparations for the upcoming season are set to begin with the Durand Cup, where Mohammedan Sporting will face Inter Kashi, Bengaluru FC, and the Indian Navy Football Team. Last season, the Black Panthers narrowly missed out on qualifying for the knockout stages of the Durand Cup. This time, they are determined to advance further and compete for the prestigious trophy.
Temuri’s arrival is seen as a pivotal step in Mohammedan Sporting’s plans to establish themselves in the ISL. With a rich history dating back over a century, the club is keen to make a strong impression in their debut season, and young talents like Temuri are central to this vision.
The Black Panthers’ fans will be eagerly anticipating the contributions of their new recruit, as the club embarks on this exciting new chapter.
