Odisha FC next game in the Hero ISL is against Jamshedpur, and it will not be at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Stadium where the team executed its first set of home matches.
Playing home away from home has visibly affected the newly-promoted team as they have nine points from nine games played having won just two drew three and lost four to sit seventh on the ten-man Indian Super League standings.
Odisha FC’s last game was against Goa FC in a 3-0 loss to the table toppers, conceding two late goals including a late penalty as Ferran Corominas scored a brace in the game while Brandon Fernandes scored in the 85th to divide his teammate’s goals.
What the result means is that Odisha FC has now only won once in six games. Jamshedpur which is Odisha FC’s next opponent sits fourth on the log with thirteen points from nine games as they sit five points away from league leaders Goa FC.
Meanwhile, captain of Odisha Marcos Tebar has disclosed that it is something of great excitement to finally play in front of the home supporters and used the opportunity also to implore fans to troop in en mass to support the team and be the twelfth man.
Rohan Sharma, owner of Odisha also expressed the same wish, calling on fans to come out and show their passion and support towards the club side especially against Jamshedpur on Friday, especially as the team push to finish in the top four at the end of the season.
Odisha will hope a return to their home ground will see the team improve on all fronts having conceded fourteen goals and scoring only eleven in their nine games so far this season.
