Punjab FC Re-Signs Luka Majcen in Surprising Move

Punjab FC is set to re-sign their former captain Luka Majcen on a one-year deal, just months after his release following the conclusion of his contract last season. The agreement is expected to be officially announced soon, as per reports from Khel Now. 

“Luka’s experience and leadership is invaluable to the club,” said a source to Khel Now.

“He knows the team and the league well, and the club is confident he’ll make an immediate impact,” he added.

Luka Majcen, who captained Punjab FC in their debut season in the Indian Super League (ISL), had an impressive individual performance despite the team failing to qualify for the playoffs. The Slovenian striker scored eight goals and provided two assists, demonstrating his skill and leadership on the field.

Majcen has been a significant figure in Indian football over the last four seasons, becoming only the third foreign player after Dudu Omagbemi and Katsumi Yusa to have played in the top three tiers of Indian football.
