The inaugural edition of the Ultimate Kho Kho League 2022 kicked off on Sunday with Mumbai Khiladis taking on the Gujarat Giants at the Badminton Hall at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge, Pune.
Gujarat Giants won the first-ever match of the Ultimate Kho Kho league by beating Mumbai Khiladis by 69-44. Aniket Pote was the pick of the defenders for the Gujarat Giants as they won by a huge margin of 25 points. The Giants currently sit at the top of the standings after their big win.
In the second match of the Ultimate Kho Kho league, Telugu Yoddhas defeated Chennai Quick Guns by 48-38. Arun Gunki was the star performer for the Yoddhas as he scored 10 points as an attacker while Deepak Madhav impressed as a defender.
On India’s independence day, Mumbai Khiladis bounced back stronger after losing their opening match. The Mumbai Khiladis bested Rajasthan Warriors by 51-43 to win their first match of the league. Sreejesh S was the star performer for Mumbai Khiladis in the defense.
In the fourth match of the tournament, Chennai Quick Guns suffered their second loss of the competition. Odisha Juggernauts won their opening clash of the season against CQG by 51-43. Mahesha P. scored six points as an attacker while Dilip Khandavi impressed one and all with his performance in the defense for Odisha Juggernauts.
Thus, it was action-packed opening two days of the Ultimate Kho Kho League, which will last for three weeks. All the six teams have played at least one match with Gujarat Giants at the top of the standings.
On Tuesday, Telugu Yoddhas will face Rajasthan Warriors while Gujarat Giants will take on Odisha Juggernauts.
The matches will be telecasted on Sony Sports Network while Live Streaming will be available on SonyLiv.
