Hyderabad Black Hawks’ SV Guru stated that it felt surreal to perform on such a big stage in the ongoing PVL 2022.
Hyderabad defeated Chennai Blitz by a comprehensive margin of 5-0 on Sunday. Subsequently, Hyderabad continued their rich form against Kolkata Thunderbolts as they won by 3-2 on Tuesday at the Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad.
Hyderabad has now climbed to the top of the points table with three wins from five matches. Hyderabad Black Hawks now have seven points under their bag and they will look to continue the good show.
In fact, Hyderabad had lost two consecutive matches before their win against Chennai Blitz and now they have won two matches in a row.
SV Guru Prasanth was awarded the Player of the match for his fine performance against Chennai. He said after the game, “It felt really good to win the match 5-0, especially after two defeats in a row. We’ll look to do well in the upcoming games and hopefully, we’ll reach the semi-finals. It was wonderful to play in the starting six for the first time and it felt surreal to perform on such a big platform.”
Hyderabad was on the verge of losing the first set against Chennai Blitz as the scoreline read 9-14. However, they were able to score six points on the bounce to take the opening set by 15-14.
“The team lagged behind in the first set because we fielded a new combination for the match. However, we found our rhythm as the match progressed. We played an excellent game and everything happened in our favor. We have good chemistry as a team, which helped us to keep fighting throughout the match.”
Hyderabad Black Hawks will look to continue the good form in the ongoing Prime Volleyball League. They will next lock horns against Calicut Heroes on Monday.
