Former World No.1 Roger Federer has admitted that Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will end with more titles than him. Federer has won 20 slam titles as he is tied with Nadal, who has also won 20 major titles. Novak Djokovic, on the other hand, has won 18 slam titles in his career thus far.
Federer is 39 years old and he is in the fag end of his career whereas one believes that Nadal and Djokovic still have some fuel left in the tank as both of them are currently 34 years old.
On the other hand, Roger Federer has won 103 ATP single titles in his illustrious career. Rafael Nadal has 88 whereas Djokovic has bagged 83 titles in his glorious career. Djokovic and Nadal both are playing at the top of their game and they are also at the top of their fitness.
Roger Federer said, “I think the way things are going, Djokovic and Nadal will win more titles than me, they are really great athletes and have been showing in recent seasons that they don’t want to stop. As for me I have had a great career but I have always said that everything that comes after 15 was a great advantage.”’
Meanwhile, Roger Federer recently returned back to action in the Geneva Open but lost the opening round against Spain’s Pablo Andujar. Federer will now be seen playing in the ongoing French Open. The flamboyant player will be up against Uzbekistan’s Denis Istomin in the first round of Roland Garros.
In fact, Federer had recently stated that the upcoming Wimbledon will be top agenda for him. Fed had played in the Qatar Open where he won the opening match against Dan Evans but lost against eventual winner Nikoloz Basilashvili.
Federer will look to bring his best in the ongoing French Open though he is not among the favourites.
