It is well known that the World No. 2 Rafael Nadal is a fighter. Nadal is known to fight till the last second of the match and he is not known to throw in the towel. The Spaniard lost his second group match of the ongoing ATP World Tour Finals against US Open Champion Dominic Thiem in straight sets by 7-6, 7-6.
Both the sets went into the tiebreaker but it was Thiem who was able to hold his nerves better than the French Open champion. After his loss against Thiem, the road to the semifinals of the ATP Finals has got a bit difficult for Nadal.
Nadal’s next match against defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas is going to be a must-win game for the Spaniard. If the southpaw loses his next game against the Greek, then it could well be the end of the tournament for him.
Nadal stated that he is feeling confident with his game and he is ready to take Stefanos Tsitsipas. The left-hander revealed that he doesn’t want to sound arrogant but has full belief in his abilities that he can win on any surface and against any player.
“I know I have to play the best tennis I can. My goal is just to keep going. I hope to be ready against Tsitsipas. I am confident with my game” acknowledged the 20-time Grand Slam winner.
“I don’t want to pretend to be arrogant all the time. My thing is I think I can win on every surface and against any player,” added the confident-looking Nadal.
Nadal has been a champion in his glorious career and he will look to make a roaring comeback. On the other hand, the match against Nadal will be do or die for Tsitsipas as he had also lost to Dominic Thiem.
Nadal and Tsitsipas will take on each other on November 20 on Centre Court in London.
