Tennis legend Roger Federer has been out of action since the last year. The Swiss maestro last played back in the semi-final of the Australian Open 2020 against evenutal winner Novak Djokovic. Subsequently, Federer suffered a knee injury and had to undergo two surgeries.
Thus, the former World No. 1 had to withdraw from the whole 2020 season amid the coronavirus pandemic. It was expected that Federer will get back to professional Tennis in 2021 Australian Open but the superstar decided to withdraw his name citing his fitness and mandatory quarantine issues.
However, now Federer is ready to get back on the court. The eight-time Wimbledon champion will take part in the ATP Doha 250, which will kickstart from March 8. Federer has won the event on three occasions in 2005, 2006, and 2011. Ergo, the talisman will look to make a roaring comeback to competitive Tennis.
Apart from Federer, players like Stan Wawrinka, Dominic Thiem, and French tennis player Gael Monfils will take part in the event.
Federer has been out of action for a long time and he will look to hit the ground running. The Tennis fans across the globe will be excited to see him back in action.
Meanwhile, Federer had made a brilliant comeback from injury back in 2017 and it will be interesting to note if he would be able to replicate the same kind of performances on the court.
Fed is now 39 years old but he has always proved that age is just a number. However, it will be interesting to note his fitness once he returns to the game.
On the other hand, the Australian Open is all set to begin from February 8.
