U Mumba’s raider Abhishek Singh scored 19 points to help his team defeat Bengaluru Bulls by 46-30 at the Sheraton Grand, Whitefield, Bengaluru in the eighth season’s opening match of Pro Kabaddi 2021 on Wednesday.
Bengaluru Bulls captain Pawan Sehrawat and raider Chandran Ranjit scored 13 and 12 points respectively but U Mumba was able to dominate the contest right throughout the match.
The opening fixture of Pro Kabaddi 2021 got off to an exciting start as Pawan Sehrawat managed to pick a bonus but he was tackled down by Narendra. Bulls were able to take a 4-1 lead in the early stage but their defense could not keep Abhishek Singh at bay, who was brilliant for the 2015 champions.
U Mumba was able to inflict the first All Out of the match and they were able to take a convincing lead. When U Mumba had only Abhishek Singh left on the mat before the first half, the talisman came up with a four-point Super Raid to help his team continue their domination. U Mumba had a comfortable 24-17 lead at the half-time stage.
Fazel Atrachali-led team then were able to inflict the second All Out of the game soon after half-time. However, Pawan Sehrawat and raider Chandran Ranjit continued their good show but their heroic efforts went in vain as they were not able to close the difference between the two teams.
In fact, U Mumba scored 22 points in the second half while Bengaluru Bulls could only manage 13. In the end, U Mumba comprehensively won by a 16-point margin to begin their campaign on a winning note.
U Mumba will next face Dabang Delhi on Friday while Bengaluru Bulls will take on Tamil Thalaivas.
