U.P. Yoddha captain Nitesh Kumar has provided an update on Pardeep Narwal’s fitness. Kumar has revealed that Narwal is not injured and is fully fit.
Many fans had questioned Pardeep Narwal’s fitness as he was not moving swiftly on the mat against Jaipur Pink Panthers at the Sheraton Grand, Whitefield, Bengaluru on Monday.
Pardeep Narwal could only score three points against Jaipur Pink Panthers as he wasn’t at his best. U.P Yoddha went on to lose by 32-29 after Jaipur Pink Panthers captain Deepak Hooda came up with a successful do-or-die raid in the dying seconds of the game.
Speaking to reporters Nitesh Kumar said, “No, Pardeep Narwal is not injured, but I think his movements were a little slow,” he said. “He is fully fit. Hopefully, he will improve his performance in the next game.”
On the other hand, Nitesh Kumar reckons his team’s defense was not up to the mark against Jaipur Pink Panthers and they were not able to keep the opposing offense in check.
“Yes, I think the defense did not play as a unit tonight. There were 6-7 occasions like that in the match. We tried advanced tackles, but we will not commit the same mistake in the next matches.”
Meanwhile, U.P. Yoddha has played three matches out of which they have won a solitary game and have lost two matches. They are currently placed in the ninth position in the points tables with seven points under their belt.
U.P. Yoddha will play their next match against Gujarat Giants on December 29 and they will look to make a solid comeback in their upcoming game.
On the other hand, Pardeep Narwal is one of the best players in the league and he would look to be at his absolute best.
