Washington Wizards talisman Bradley Beal has been on a roll in the ongoing season. It has been two weeks since the NBA 2020:21 season has started and Beal has looked apart so far. In fact, the 27-year old has top-scored in each of the eight matches for his team as he has come up with consistent performances.
On Thursday, against Philadelphia 76ers, Bradley Beal took his game to another level. The shooting guard scored a whopping 60 points as he created a new franchise record. In fact, Bradley scored his career-best 57 in only three quarters. He converted 7/8 three pointers as he shot with great accuracy.
The talisman was shooting 65% from the field before the last quarter. After this brilliant show, Beal has left behind legend Gilbert Arenas as this was his fourth 50-point game. Bradley Beal (4) has passed Gilbert Arenas (3) for most 50-point games in Wizards franchise history.
Furthermore, Beal tied with Arenas all-time Washington Wizards’ record for most points (60) in a single game. Interestingly, Beal broke Arenas’ record on the latter’s birthday.
However, Beal’s heroic efforts went in vain as the Washington Wizards lost against the Philadelphia 76ers by 141-136. In fact, the Wizards had a horrible start to the season as they lost their first five matches. So far, the Wizards have won only two matches and they have lost six games. Thus, they will need to turn the tables in the upcoming matches.
The team heavily relies on the shoulders of Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook but they will need to come up with a collective effort.
The Washington Wizards will next lock horns against the Boston Celtics on 9th of January.
