The 2024-25 senior men’s Indian domestic cricket season will begin with the Duleep Trophy tournament in early September. So far, the tournament was played by six zones but the BCCI has introduced a new format with only four teams taking part in the upcoming edition. India A, India B, India C, and India D will be the four teams in the competition.
The upcoming Duleep Trophy will be played at two venues within the Anantapur Cricket Ground complex in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
It has been reported that players like Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Surykumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav have been asked by the BCCI to play in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are also reported to take part in the competition. While Rohit last played in Duleep trophy back in 2016, Kohli hasn’t played any domestic cricket since 2012.
The teams will be selected by the senior national selection committee chaired by Ajit Agarkar.

India’s team will also host Bangladesh for two Test matches and three T20Is, with first Test match to begin from September 19.
