England and India will face each other in the second ODI at the Mecca of Cricket, Lord’s on Thursday. India dominated the first game as they had won by 10 wickets and will look to continue their form in the second game.
On the other hand, it will be a must-win match for England to stay alive in the series. Nothing went their way in the first ODI and Jos Buttler will want a better batting performance as they were wrapped up for only 110 runs.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah was the chief destroyer of the England batting innings as he scalped 6-19 to return with the best ODI figures in his career. Bumrah was unplayable, and England batters didn’t have any answers to his accurate bowling. Furthermore, Mohammed Shami took three wickets for the tourists.
Moreover, Rohit Sharma played a fine knock of 76 runs to help his team get over the line. In fact, the England bowlers kept making the mistake of bowling short to Rohit and the Indian captain was happily playing the pulls and the hooks. It will be interesting to note if Virat Kohli plays as he missed the first ODI due to a groin injury.
On the other hand, England batters will need to come up with a collective show. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow are in the form of their lives and they will need to come up with a better performance.
