IPL 2020: Brad Hogg picks the best XI of league phase, leaves out KL Rahul

Former Australian chinaman spinner Brad Hogg has picked the best XI of the league phase, in which he left out KXIP captain KL Rahul, who is currently the highest run-getter in IPL 2020.

In fact, Hogg also left out Kagiso Rabada, who is the highest wicket-taker so far. Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal are the openers for Brad Hogg.

Dhawan is currently the third highest run-getter of the tournament as he has scored 525 runs in 14 matches, including two centuries and three fifties. The southpaw has scored his runs at an average of 47.73 and strike rate of 145.03. Agarwal also impressed while opening for KXIP as he amassed 424 runs in 11 matches at an average of 38.55 and strike rate of 156.46.

At number three, Hogg selected MI’s Suryakumar Yadav, who has scored 410 runs in 13 innings at an average of 41 and strike rate of 150.18. Yadav has been a consistent performer for MI over the years.

Hogg picked AB de Villiers to bat at number four. AB has scored 398 runs in 13 innings at an average of 44.22 and strike rate of 163.79. The former Australian spinner selected KKR skipper Eoin Morgan to bat at five. The left-hander gathered 418 runs in 14 matches at an average of 41.8 and strike rate of 138.41.

The 49-year old Hogg picked Hardik Pandya to bat at number six in his team. Pandya has smashed 241 runs in 11 innings at an astonishing strike rate of 174.63 and average of 34.42.

Jofra Archer, who breathed fire in IPL 2020, bats at number seven in the batting order. Archer was relentless with the ball as he scalped 20 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 18.25.

Rashid Khan is the first spinner in the side as SRH talisman has snared 19 wickets in 14 matches. The Afghanistan spinner has bowled with an average of 15.54 and a brilliant economy rate of 5.29. Mohammed Shami is the second seamer in the team as he took 20 wickets in 14 matches.

Jasprit Bumrah is the third pacer in Hogg’s team as the gun fast bowler has bagged 23 wickets in 13 matches. Yuzvendra Chahal is the second spinner in the team as he claimed 20 wickets in 14 league stage matches.
